Day 1, Sunday 3rd October 2010: The Launch

Big Brother returned to Portugal today nearly 7 years after BB4 ended, the gap of 2,468 days between Big Brother's was the longest gap in Big Brother world history.

This fifth edition is the Secret Story format, where each Housemate has a secret.

17 Housemates entered the House. They were - Ana-Isabel, Andreia, António, Catarina, Daniela, Doriana, Hugo F, Hugo M, Ivo, Jade, Joana, Mário, Renato, Vasco, Vera, Vítor and Zé-Miguel.

Daniela was previously a Housemate in the Secret Story 3 (5) France edition.

Mário and Renato are identical twin brothers. Only one at a time can be in the main House, they must swap places with each other. If they go undetected for a week, they will be immune from the first eviction, if they fail the secret mission they will be automatically nominated.
